Shards 1.1.0 Update – Relicensing and Extras

We have decided to relicense Shards under the MIT license and add more to extras pack.

Since its launch, there was a lot of confusion and debate around Shards’ license and the restrictions it imposed that disappointed many people willing to adopt and use it in their projects.

We heard you! Licenses that create uncertainty and prevent people from using libraries like Shards are not following or promoting any of the open source principles. With this in mind, we decided to shift our focus to the community, listen to its needs and relicense Shards under the MIT license.

The latest version of Shards is also available as an NPM package and includes the most requested feature: the demo page used to showcase Shards’ components.

You can download the latest version here, here or install it via NPM.

We apologize for holding people off with our prior license, hope to put those discussions behind and focus on building a more beautiful web.
